Every Saturday through the end of October, California State University, Northridge's student-led 3 Wins Fitness is hosting free family fitness classes to help prepare those interested in running the first-ever San Fernando Valley Mile on Oct. 29. Classes, offered in Spanish and English, will focus on improving cardio, increasing movement and flexibility, and lowering mile times in preparation for the race. The program is progressive, meaning participants will make small gains on a weekly basis. Two training sessions are available every Saturday at El Cariso Park in Sylmar from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Information is available here. To register, click here.
