2. August 15th: #NationalRelaxationDay

Everyone deserves a moment to themselves - with peace and quiet, and maybe some face masks! Take some time today to set up a family friendly spa day with relaxing and fun activities like a banana mash facial, tickly toe foot soak, and a family massage train. Included are some recipes for healthy snacks, and of course, a list of all essentials to utilize that can be found around your home.

3. August 16th: #NationalRollerCoasterDay

Round up your crew and enjoy the thrills of roller coasters and attractions with huge savings from @CertifiKID. Search “roller coaster” to plan your next adventure today.

Fun Fact: The first successful American roller coaster is often credited to LaMarcus Adna Thompson, who built the "Gravity Pleasure Switchback Railway" at Coney Island, New York, in 1884. This wooden coaster featured a series of hills and was the precursor to the more elaborate and thrilling designs we see today.

4. August 17th: #NationalBlackCatAppreciationDay

Do we really need an excuse to love on our furry friends? Not at all! But it's a fun reminder to spread some extra love. Black cats often face unwarranted superstitions, so today is all about recognizing their charm and uniqueness. Show your appreciation by giving extra love to the black cats in your life or by supporting black cat adoptions at local shelters.

Speaking of shelters...it's kitten season!! Our Los Angeles Animal Services is looking for volunteers to bottle feed kittens. The next volunteer orientation is August 24, 2024. Take a look and sign up on their website!

5. August 18th: #NationalFajitaDay

Celebrate National Fajita Day by indulging in the sizzle and spice of this beloved Tex-Mex classic! On this special day, fajitas take center stage with their vibrant mix of grilled meats and colorful peppers, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Gather your family and friends for a fun-filled fajita bar, where everyone can build their own flavorful creations. From savory chicken and steak to a variety of fresh toppings, National Fajita Day is the perfect opportunity to enjoy this delicious and interactive meal. Make sure to savor every bite and raise a toast to the joy of fajitas!
