The big holidays are fun to celebrate and get festive for, so why not kick it up with these daily celebrations. With root beer floats, pickleball and books, there's bound to be something to celebrate this week!
1. August 6th: #NationalRootBeerFloatDay
Root beer floats are delicious!! Especially FREE floats! A&W and it's sister stores, like Wienerschnitzel in Northridge are offering free floats with a purchase on this day of celebration. If you'd rather make one at home, or pop up a Root Beer Float Stand, here's a way to add a twist
2. August 7th: #NationalLighthouseDay
If you want to take advantage of one of the last days of summer, National Lighthouse Day, celebrated every August 7th, is a wonderful time for families to plan a day trip. These iconic beacons of light make for an awesome day of education and exploring something of historical significance. In Los Angeles, you can see several picturesque lighthouses, such as the Point Vicente Lighthouse in Rancho Palos Verdes and the Angel's Gate Lighthouse in San Pedro. Visiting these landmarks offers a glimpse into maritime history, stunning coastal views, and a unique way for families to bond while learning about the vital role lighthouses have played in guiding sailors safely to shore.

Pickleball is a fun and easy-to-learn sport that the whole family can enjoy together! Combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, it’s played on a smaller court with a paddle and a perforated plastic ball. Perfect for kids and adults alike, pickleball promotes physical activity, coordination, and teamwork, making it a great way for families to bond and stay active.
